| Making Things Happen |
|
When I was growing up I remember hearing the stories of how deals were created when times were tough. How people actually sat down and made things happen. Sure, “you just can’t do that anymore.”, but you might want to revisit the concept of “making things happen”. How much time are you spending preparing for different types of negotiations? Ever used jewelry as a down payment? Or how about offering to buy a home and using a boat as a down payment? What about a limousine ride to and from a concert that included seats close to the stage? Sure this may sound crazy, but the point I’m trying to make is that these situations could be part of deal making rather than breaking with the proper legal and accounting structures. I even know a gentlemen who took a cemetery plot as a commission, may he rest in peace! It’s very easy to be negative right now and that is why it’s your opportunity to succeed! You see, the easier it is to complain the more people do it and the less productive they become. Yet positive people generate positive outcomes regardless of any situation! It is an absolute joy to make something happen right now. Ever been to the seminar when the presenter holds up a $20 bill and says, “Who wants this”? Then he or she repeats that line until either somebody grabs it or they put it back in their pocket and admonishes the audience about the fact that if they want it, they have to get it! That simple lesson still holds true today. If you want it, you have to get it! If you really feel down and out right now then here is the Ace in the Hole: Go talk to an elderly person who was born before 1927, and find out from them what hard times were like! The beauty of this is that at the end of the conversation you will have made their day and they will have made yours! We have so much good happening right now. And I know that doesn’t pay the bills, but complaining doesn’t either.
