Here’s an Old Idea That’s Always New!
Written by George W. Schnarre

So many professionals struggle in this age of overwhelming information access to achieve marketing excellence. In fact many well intentioned professionals get started on the latest marketing technique and then more often than not get side tracked by other obligations.

There is a trick to this and million dollar professionals know it. What I’m about to do is pass this valuable information on to you. There are events that take place each year and the only thing you have to do is align yourself with the one you want and then make a big deal about it!

Here are a few examples of what multi-million dollar producers have done, and you
can too:
  • Rent a park area and have a community Easter egg hunt for children.
  • Rent a park area and have Santa come to a picnic for a Christmas in July celebration.
  • Buy a truckload of pumpkins and deliver a pumpkin to each client or a specific neighborhood in October.
  • Buy a truckload of frozen turkeys to deliver to clients or a specific neighborhood
    in November.
  • Buy a truckload of large plastic bowls to deliver to clients or a specific neighborhood for the Super Bowl celebration.

If you’re thinking to yourself, “I can’t afford that,” then here’s more good news! Many of the professionals cited above couldn’t afford it when they started it up either, so they acquired co-sponsors. The egg farmer co-sponsored the Easter Egg Hunt, the local veterans’ organization helped with the Christmas in July celebration, and a grocery chain got involved with donating turkeys in November. Many of these events have taken place for decades and become real community traditions. Everyone involved has benefited.

You can do this! Of course this is what separates the Doers from the shouldas, couldas, and wouldas! This is the reason why some professionals are having a great time and others are overwhelmed. The successful ones do one thing right once a year and then maintain their relationships with marketing tools such as the ones offered by Focus Publications. It really is simple and affordable!

Each region has its own unique attributes and being in concert with them will yield better results. It is a mistake to try to make what worked in another area work in yours. From spring forward cliff diving events to winter marshmallow eating contests, just make sure you’re having fun!
