Call to Action: H.R. 3044 Needs Cosponsors!

Dear NAMB Members,

Please call your Representatives today and urge them to cosponsor H.R. 3044. The bill was introduced by Representatives Childers (D-MS) and Miller (R-CA) and it calls for an 18 month moratorium on the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC). Click here for a copy of NAMB’s press release on H.R. 3044.

Please call your Representative today and ask why the New York Attorney General is making laws that affect voters in their district.  For example: "I am very concerned that appraisal rules that are applicable to the entire country are being decided by the State Attorney General of New York, Andrew Cuomo. It would seem that any state official can negotiate new rules and standards without review or approval from Congress.” Please also ask your Representative when they plan to sign on as a cosponsor of H.R. 3044! Below are two articles outlining issues with the HVCC as well as an Appraisal Management Chart that shows how three companies have taken over the appraisal business. Please refer to one of the articles in your discussion and fax/e-mail a copy of the article along with a copy of the chart to your Representative’s office.
